MAINTENANCE
Things To Do DAILY
1) Feed the fish food mixture. Please see 'Supplies' for food mixture ratio. The amount to be fed daily is as per the following:
BIG FISH FOOD #1 - 10 big soup spoon
SMALL FISH FOOD #2 - 4 big soup spoon
(currently used spoon size)
2) The pond light is to be turned on at 7 pm and turned on at 11 pm daily.
Things To Do WEEKLY
Test pH, ammonia & NO2 by using the pH tester kit. Adjust the level if necessary. Please see 'Water Quality' for instructions.
Things To Do Every 6 MONTHS
Service the Laguna water filter & 4 panel water filter.
Take out the sponge from the Laguna filter and rinse it with tap water. However, do not clean it thoroughly as there still needs to be some algae. Once done, put back sponge as video.
Troubleshooting
Problem:
When there is a power failure in the neighbourhood, the entire filtration system stops working. What happens is that 20% of the water reverses out from the pond through the overflow, and flows back into the filtration system, causing an overflow in the filtration system. The water will then flow out from the filtration system outlet into the drainage as the water level rises.
Solution:
KB has said that only 20% of the water is drained. The rest remains, because the water level does not go over the overflow. Nilufar has maintained that this is okay and it is normal, as that is how the filtration system works. There is no solution to this, as they face the same problem at pet shop too.
